Synopsis
The story of Don’t Move is conveyed through evocative imagery rather than dialogue. Iris lies still in bed, her eyes fixed on the ceiling in a quiet, unsettling stare, hinting at the unfolding events. To underscore the emotional distance between them, a man sleeps a few feet away, his back turned. In a moment of quiet acceptance, Iris shifts her gaze from the sky to a small plastic boat on the nightstand. Leaving both the man and her phone behind, she takes the boat and a pocket knife, slipping away in silence. Her journey leads her to a remote state park, where she uses the knife to etch letters into a tree. The toy boat becomes a poignant keepsake for an impromptu memorial, which includes a photograph of a young child, suggesting the tragic loss of Iris’s son.
