Synopsis
Mr. Reed, a man curious for more details, reaches out for information. Two young missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Sister Barnes and Sister Paxton, respond to his request. Initially, they adhere to their rule of not entering a man’s home unless a woman is present. However, Mr. Reed assures them that his wife is in the adjacent room baking a pie, and the enticing aroma of cooked blueberries wafts through the air as confirmation. Reassured, they enter and begin a theological discussion with Reed. Almost immediately, he turns the tables, engaging the sisters in a probing interview about their beliefs and faith. Trusting in their higher power—just as they trust that his wife is indeed in the kitchen—they engage in the spirited exchange.
