Synopsis
The story of J. Edgar Hoover (played by Leonardo DiCaprio) unfolds as he reflects on his long and influential career for a biography. Over time, he builds the FBI’s reputation, gaining complete control over hiring and firing decisions. Hoover’s recollections highlight his pivotal involvement in major cases like the Lindbergh baby kidnapping and the capture of notorious bank robbers such as John Dillinger. They also reveal his skillful manipulation of politicians, aided by secret files he maintained throughout his career.
